Note: this map is for general orientation and does not reflect live traffic or exact commute times. Hospitals show which full-service ER is nearest to each community — pick a community and the hospital serving it is drawn larger with a "Serves [community]" tag. Texas Vista Medical Center closed in 2023 and has been removed; the south and southwest sides now route to Methodist Hospital Westover Hills and Baptist Neighborhood Hospital – Rigsby. Schools include every open public, charter, and private campus in the area from the U.S. Department of Education's 2024–25 school location data, with district, grades, and enrollment in each popup. Police and Fire cover every SAPD substation and SAFD station (City of San Antonio data), each suburban city's own police and fire department, and the county fire districts (ESDs) that cover cities without a station of their own — those stations say which community they cover. Government covers city halls, Texas DPS driver license offices, county tax offices, libraries, post offices, courthouses and community/senior centers — note that county tax offices handle vehicle registration only and do not issue driver licenses. Assisted Living & Memory Care lists every currently licensed assisted living facility from Texas Health & Human Services’ provider search (Type A and B licenses explained in each popup; facilities with pending enforcement actions are left off — always check a facility’s inspection history before choosing). 55+ & Retirement Communities covers age-restricted and age-targeted neighborhoods and continuing-care retirement communities, including the military-heritage Blue Skies of Texas and Army Residence Community. Clinics, dental offices, groceries and stores come from OpenStreetMap and are extensive but not exhaustive. Pins just outside a small city's limits are grouped with that city and say so. Smaller enclave cities may have no store or venue of their own; for those, the map shows the closest options nearby and says so.
